the pig in a puddle was in a muddle not knowing what to do.

she liked this Cat that lived in a hat, down by the old wornout shoe.

so the pig thought and thought, and by and by, she came to a brilliant plan.

if she cleaned herself up and looked sparkling white, perhaps the Cat would understand.

so she scrubbed and scrubbed like a rub-a-dub-dub and voila, she was clean and new.

so she paraded about, landing by chance, near the house of the Cat from the Shoe.

the Cat came out, and looked about, somewhat in a tither,

And asked the lucky and happy clean pig to please come a bit closer hither.

so the pig waddled up and down with glee, looking proud and spic as a span

while the Cat cleaned its paws in a disinterested way and dreamed of Fish-in-a-Pan.

at last the pig, in a fit of annoyance, went over and sat on the Cat.

and began to squeal in a high-pitched squeak that she'd had enough of that...

would His Highness please notice her spic-&-span coat, her glowing ears and fresh tail?

for she'd spent all night and part of the day scrubbing in a pail.

the Cat squawked a bit with the breath he had left, and said the pig looked just dandy

if he'd kindly get off him pretty please, he'd get them a spot of brandy

so the pig jumped up with quite a flurry, sending his ears flapping about

and the Cat fluffed his fur and waggled his tail in the piggy's clean white snout

and they went to the hat and sat and drank brandy by the glass

and a cuter pair you never did see, though terribly mismatched!
